Weather Station up and running

Liz Wakeman, a water technician for the Bureau of Indian Affairs, recently wrote a grant for funding to build a weather station in the county. With the help of engineers, she was able to build the station north of Flandreau, but had trouble connecting to other weather stations.

Wakeman got in touch with the SDSU Department of Agriculture and Biosystems Engineering for assistance in setting the station up and connected. Nathan Edwards, South Dakota mesonet manager, will continue working with Wakeman to present the project the area schools.
