Taryn St. Pierre will represent Flandreau High School as a delegate at the upcoming SD American Legion Auxiliary Girls State session May 27-June 1. The event is held on the campus of USD in Vermillion. Taryn will join approximately 450 other junior girls to experience a week of intensive training in citizenship and government. The session serves as a laboratory of political science with each participant taking an active part in the activities and learning that her government is just what she makes it. As future voters and office holders, ALA Girl Staters gain a thorough understanding of the workings of government. She is sponsored by the Trent American Legion Auxiliary.
