Thomas C. Spiering, age 86, of Madison, died Thursday, May 13, 2021, at the Madison Regional Health System.
His funeral service was held May 18, 2021, at the Ellsworth Funeral Home in Madison. Burial at the Union Cemetery in Flandreau.
Thomas Spiering was born on May 31, 1934, to John and Freida (Leibert) Spiering in Codington County. He was raised on a farm and eventually earned his GED. Tom was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Army. He went into law enforcement until retirement. He served in the Moody County area at one time.
He is survived by his wife Lois; his children, Wade Spiering of Arden Hills, MN, and Annette Fraser of Murfreesboro, TN; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Dorene Barthel of Watertown.
