Tawsha K. Roubideaux, "Tahca Cante Win," age 45, started her journey to the spirit world on March 27, 2017 in Sioux Falls SD.
Tawsha Kim was born on June 28, 1971 to Nathaniel and Helen (Thin Elk) Nickey in Rosebud SD. She graduated in 1989 from Flandreau Indian School in Flandreau SD. Tawsha attended Stewart Hairstyle School in Sioux Falls SD. Later, she attended college in Mississippi seeking a Mortuary Science degree. She found her calling in the field of Nursing and worked many years at the Riverview Manor in Flandreau SD. On Feburary 14, 1994 Tawsha was united in marriage to Marvin Roubideaux of Rosebud SD. Tawsha was known for her love of music and was an avid drummer and singer. A favorite pastime was live music sessions and singing at home with her family and close relatives. She will be remembered for always listening to 80's hair band ballads and songs. Tawsha also enjoyed her favorite Investigative Discovery TV shows, Art - drawing and sketching, reading, being out in nature, joking & laughing, spending time with her three grandchildren, and being around family.
Tawsha is survived by her parents Nathaniel and Helen Nickey of Flandreau SD, her children Rashane Roubideaux of Odessa MN, Latia Roubideaux of Flandreau SD, and Keenan Wakiyan Roubideaux of Flandreau SD; her grandchildren Darrion, Vivian, and baby CJ Williams Jr. of Flandreau SD; her siblings Lashawn Nickey of Flandreau SD, Tiana Nickey of Oneida WI, and Micah Nickey of Shawano WI; and her husband Marvin Roubideaux of Rosebud SD.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Lawanna Lachele Nickey; her paternal grandparents Rev. W.C. Nickey and Josaphine Nickey, maternal grandparents, Aloysious Thin Elk and Vivian Brave; and her granddaughter Forever Williams.
Services for Tawsha were held in Mississippi.
