Supervised Snow Removal

Posted

A powerful storm system moved through the area last week dropping .38” of rain followed by just over four inches of heavy wet snow and sleet. When melted down the snow netted another .71” of moisture. A second system moved through over the weekend. This event again produced rain on Saturday morning and by noon changed over to heavy wet snowfall. The second system produced snow that measured 3.1” with a melted total of .52”. Even though the snow was an inconvenience the moisture was welcome since most of the snow this winter has not produced much measurable moisture. Moving the heavy snow was a difficult task and even challenged some snow blowers. Darwin Latham is seen here, supervised by his black lab, clearing the sidewalk in front of his house on Bridge Avenue in Flandreau, apparently the work met with the supervisor’s approval.
