Scott J. Ulwelling, age 44, of Madison, died Friday, July 21, 2017 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.
Scott John Ulwelling was born October 28, 1972 in Flandreau, S.D., the son of John and Elise (Clark) Ulwelling.
He graduated from Flandreau Public High School in 1991. During the summers while Scott was in high school he worked at T & R Electric in Colman.
After high school, he received training in electrical engineering which gave him the knowledge needed to further his advancement at T & R. Eventually, Scott was promoted to the engineering department at T & R and that was his position at the time of his death.
In his spare time, Scott loved to be in the outdoors: hunting or fishing, was a 4-H coach for the shooting sports, enjoyed music and relaxing by an evening fire pit.
He is survived by his two sons, Brayden Ulwelling and Chase Ulwelling of Madison; his parents, John and Elise Ulwelling of Flandreau; his sister, Miah (Al) Barnhart of Howard and their three sons, Tanner, Colter and Jack Barnhart; fiancée, Kari Hein of Madison and her two children, Stephanie Hein and Nick Blazek; his step-daughter, Alexis Klein; aunts, uncles and cousins and his beloved dog, Emma.
Scott was preceded in death by his maternal & paternal grandparents; uncle, aunt and two cousins.
Funeral service was held Friday, July 28, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Dirk Hagmaier officiating. Burial in Union Cemetery in Flandreau. Online condolences can be sent at www.weilandfuneralchapel.com.
