Roger Haak, age 65, of Dell Rapids, passed away unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack at his home on Thursday, April 20, 2017.
Roger Haak was born on August 4, 1951 to Alven and Alpha (Flaten) Haak in Dell Rapids, SD. He grew up on the family farm east of Dell Rapids. He attended school in Dell Rapids graduating from DRHS in 1969. After high school he enlisted in the Army National Guard and began farming with his father. He remained on the farm until his time of death. He enjoyed everything about farming. He had his private pilot license and loved spending time with his sisters in California taking care of their horses.
He is survived by his brothers, Jerome (Betty) Haak of Dell Rapids and David (Lee) Haak of Custer; his sisters, Joyce (Paul) Brook of Romona, CA and Diane (Phil) Wolfe of San Diego, CA; his eight nephews and his five nieces; his six great nephews and one great niece and his extended family and friends.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents and an infant niece.
His memorial service was held April 24, 2017 at Kahler Funeral Home Chapel in Dell Rapids.
