Robert M. Nesje, 88, of Sioux Falls and formerly of Flandreau, died Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Ava’s House.
Robert Milton born July 5, 1932 in Madison, SD to Ragnvald Nesje and Mabel (Kvitne) Nesje. Robert was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Madison, SD. He later graduated from Central High School with the Class of 1950. Robert was united in marriage to Juanita Redwing on May 31, 1953 at Pipestone, MN.
Robert began his nearly 40 year career with Northwestern Bell Telephone on an unlocated construction crew, later as an installer repairman and finally in the central office. Robert retired from US West as a microwave technician in Sioux Falls.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife: Juanita; six children: Patricia (Michael) O’Hara of Wausau, WI, Richard (Gloria) Nesje of Flandreau, SD, Barbara (Mike) Ferguson of Arvada, CO, Wayne (Anne Marie) Nesje of Yankton, Leanne Nesje and Jared (LaDawn) Nesje both of Sioux Falls; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one niece: Jennifer (Andy) Brogdon of Crandall, GA; one sister-in-law: Beverly Wakeman of Flandreau; and several first cousins living in Norway, and two cousins in the U.S.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Ragnvald and Mabel; and one brother, Orvin.
A private graveside committal service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 13th at Graceland Cemetery, Madison.
