City crews in both Flandreau and Colman are in the process of cleaning and other routine maintenance on their respective city pools in anticipation of opening in the coming weeks. A longer school year for many this year has staff behind on standard training.
Flandreau City Pool has a tentative opening date of June 5th. This past week, Andy Wede worked to thoroughly clean the surface of the children’s play area (pictured).
Pool manager Lori Williams was hoping for Memorial Day weekend but she isn’t sure her guards will have their certifications completed. In Flandreau, the first session of swimming lessons is scheduled for June 19-June 30th and the second session July 17th-July 28th.
