HOWARD – Flandreau’s Braden Peters took fourth at the Howard Wrestling Tournament on Saturday. He was pinned in 1:29 by Wagner’s Dawson Lensing in the opening round, before bouncing back with three wins in a row.
Peters received a bye in the first-round of wrestlebacks.
He then pinned Mt. Vernon/Plankinton/Corsica-Stickney’s Kellen Cassidy in 2:37 and Parker’s Geoff Dunkelberger in 21 seconds. Peters earned a 4-3 sudden-victory versus Tri-Valley’s Ethan Nehlich in the consolation semifinals but then got pinned in 2:00 by McCook Central/Montrose’s Colin Reif in the third-place match.
Hunter Witte (113 pounds) and Tanner Christenson (126) both went 1-2. Brayden Weise (106) and Kolby Peters (152) finished 0-2.
