Mark W. Stephens, age 56 of Flandreau died September 16, 2019 in Flandreau.
Mark Wayne was born December 22, 1962 to Lee M. and Vada (Nickey) Stephens. He spent most of his younger years in Mississippi until moving to Flandreau. He was athletic and spent his younger days playing baseball and softball. His deepest passion was music playing the guitar, bass and singing a variety of songs. He was passionate about his music and openly shared his talents with anyone. He loved spending time with friends and family; watching his nieces and nephew play sports. He was kind and caring to everyone he knew and shared his jokes and laughter.
He is survived by his mother Vada Nickey, Flandreau; two brothers: Dion (Teresa) Stephens and Ted (Rogene) Stephens, both of Flandreau; two nieces: Brittany (Kenny Davis) Stephens of Sioux Falls and Maggie Lynn Stephens of Flandreau; two nephews: Zachery Stephens and Chaz Stephens, both of Flandreau; two great nieces: Finnley Davis and Remi Davis of Sioux Falls; his uncle, Nathaniel (Helen) Nickey of Flandreau and his aunts: Kathleen Jefferson of Sandersville, MS, Ruby Thompason of Madison, May McGeisey, Rosie Joe and Elizabeth Denson, all of Choctaw, MS, Shirley Sherman of Vicksburg, MS and Mary Isom of Conchatta, MS.
His is preceded in death by his grandparents, William C and Jospehine Nickey, Felix Stephens, Martha (Anderson) Nickey, his father Lee.
Funeral Service was held September 22 at Bogue Homa Community Gymnasium with interment in the Bogue Homa Community Cemetery.
