   Lowell E. Eikmeier, age 85, of Flandreau, SD passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Avera Morningside Heights Care Center, Marshall, MN. Lowell was born April 13, 1932 at Luverne, MN, to Harry and Dorothy (Nuffer) Eikmeier. He attended Daily Country School #18, graduated from Jasper High School in 1951 and attended SDSU in Brookings for two years. Lowell married Ruth Christensen on June 19, 1952 at Trent, SD. He entered the U.S. Army on November 8, 1954 during the Korean War and served in Germany. After his discharge on August 15, 1956 he returned to Moody County where they farmed and raised registered Angus cattle. Ruth passed away on June 20, 1982. Lowell married Bonnie Bean on July 14, 1990 in Flandreau, SD. They moved into Flandreau in 1995. After they retired they enjoyed traveling the Alaska Highway and the Alaska Marine Highway. Bonnie preceded him in death on August 22, 2016. Lowell was a member of Flandreau United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir and held offices on the administration board, and a former member of Salem United Methodist Church from 1932 - 1990 where he served as treasurer for 25 years. He was a member of the American Legion, enjoyed showing cattle for 30 years, was a member of the Angus Association and was in 4-H as a youth. Lowell loved playing cards, jigsaw puzzles, computer games and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

   Lowell is survived by four children, Lola (Lyle) DeCock, Ghent, MN; Becky Eikmeier, St. Peter, MN; Barbara Eikmeier, Hadley, MN; Sally Eikmeier, Rapid City, SD; four step-children, Doug (Margaret) Bean, Wasilla, AK; River (Sarah) Bean, Palmer, AK; William (Jeanie) Bean, Rockmart, GA; Rebecca (Norman) Bean-Mullan, Kodiak, AK; 12 step-grandchildren, Monique (Scott) Richter, Jesse Bean, Logan Bean, Fabian Bean, Christopher (Jessica) Bean, LeAli Bean, Wiyanna (Bryan) Blalock, Parry Nelson, Britta Mullan, Wesley (Courtney) Mullan, Cindy Mullan, Alexandria (David) Bryan; eight step-great-grandchildren, Ashton Richter, Trinity Bean, Johanna Bean, Daniel Bean, Trinton Hestor, Parker Mullan, Kellen Mullan, Eleanor Bryan; and one sister Phyllis Pomerenke, Okabena, MN. Lowell was preceded in death by his wives, Ruth and Bonnie, step-grandchild, Douglas (P.J.) Bean and his parents.

   Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 18, 2017 at Flandreau United Methodist Church, with military rights by Kelley-Porter Post 70, and burial in Salem United Methodist Cemetery, rural Pipestone, MN.
