Liberty’s Troops receives a nice donation

For the second year in a row, Liberty’s Troops received $2500 from Wilbur-Ellis Chester Branch. Five years ago, they were looking for a way to make a difference and give back. After learning how many lives were affected by cancer in our local communities, they decided to make a difference. The Start Strong, Stay Strong campaign was started. They soon saw how their idea of changing the color of the seed treatment to pink, while pledging to donate 10¢ per unit, could turn into something big. Their suppliers joined them by matching which tripled the pledge to 30¢ per unit. Over the past five years, they have given back over $50,000 to local organizations, all thanks to the growers and suppliers. Mike Blum, at left, an employee of Wilbur Ellis Chester Branch, presents a check to Cody Amdahl of the non-profit organization Liberty’s Troops. The organization’s primary purpose is to “Help Small Children Fight Big Battles.” Money is distributed to families to help with groceries, and travel and medical expenses, etc. Anyone who knows a family who meets the Liberty’s Troops requirement should nominate them to received funds from Liberty’s Troops.
