LCC meet held in Hayti

HAYTI – The Flandreau girls took second and the boys were seventh at the Lake Central Conference Track & Field Meet on Tuesday.

Hamlin won the girls’ title with 196 points and the Fliers finished with 131.

On the boys’ side, Sioux Valley won with 165.5 points and Hamlin (152) was second. Flandreau had 66 points.

Girls

Flandreau’s Kylie Bertram, Isabella Pavlis, Cassidy Keith and Ashtyn Bertram were first in the 4x100-meter relay in 53.71 seconds. Kylie Bertram, Hannah Parsley, Cassidy Keith and Ashtyn Bertram won the 4x200 with a 1:51.6 clocking.

Ashtyn Bertram added a first-place finish in the 100 in 13.21 seconds, as Kylie Bertram was runner-up with a time of 13.35. The latter Bertram was also third in the 200 (28.04).

Hannah Parsley took second in the 200 (27.91) and 400 (1:04.03).

Elizabeth Hursey finished second in the 800 (2:33.34), third in the 3,200 (14:02.4) and fourth in the 1,600 (5:48.1).

Madeline Hursey ended up second in the 3,200 (12:28.53) and third in the 1,600 (5:43.75).

Elle Thompson wound up second in the discus with a heave of 102 feet and took eighth in the shot put (28-6).

Pavlis was fifth in the 100 (13.86) and sixth in the 400 (1:07.8). Reese Olinger placed fourth in the 3,200 (15:04.05) and seventh in the 1,600 (6:40.34). Mara Lunday ended up fifth in the long jump (13-8 3/4).

Keith, Pavlis, Lunday and Parsley finished third in the 4x400 (4:21.6). Maria Parsley, Keith, Lunday and Olinger were fourth in the medley (5:15.41).

Boys

The Fliers’ Martin Ruelas won the long jump with a mark of 19-3 1/2 and teammate Dalyn Bakkedahl finished first in the triple jump at 39-8.

Luke Behrens took third in the 200 (23.9) and fourth in the 400 (55.03).

Gabe Hobbie finished fourth in the 3,200 (11:59.87) and Tayson Alberts was sixth in the long jump (16-10 3/4).

Placing seventh were Lars Dailey in the 800 (2:24.67) and Ben Hobbie in the 1,600 (5:18.07). Michael Witte took eighth in the 200 (24.99).

Ruelas, Bakkedahl, Witte and Behrens finished third in the 4x200 (1:37.35).

Ben Hobbie, Gabe Hobbie, Grady Gullickson and Dailey took fourth in the 4x800 (9:44.96).

Ruelas, Brendan Ten Eyck, Witte and Behrens crossed in fifth in the 4x400 (3:51.19). Reulas, Austin Weber, Ten Eyck and Ben Hobbie were fifth in the medley (4:09.25).

Trevor Hahn, Weber, Witte and Ten Eyck placed sixth in the 4x100 (48.6).
