Kenneth E. Edwards, age 67 formerly of Colman, died October 12, 2018, surrounded by family while under hospice care, after a prolonged battle with cancer.
Kenneth Eugene Edwards was born on September 23, 1951 at Mitchell, SD, the son of Cecil and Alice (Thompson) Edwards. He grew up and attended school in Huron, SD. Kenneth served in the U.S. Army as a combat engineer in Korea, Germany and Vietnam from 1969 until his honorable discharge in 1972.
On November 19, 1972 he married Jeannie Hansen. Four children were born to this union. Kenneth made his home in Colman, SD and worked for T & R Electric as an electrical transformer switchgear designer, for 45 years, retiring in 2014. He later relocated to Lennox, SD.
Kenneth loved to tinker. He enjoyed figuring things out. He liked to work with anything mechanical, electrical and even wood working projects. He could take things apart, to see how they worked, repair and reassemble the item into working order.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Art and Coral Noble.
Grateful for having shared his life are his ex-wife and friend, Jeannie Edwards, Sioux Falls, four children: Melinda (Aric) Stien, their children, Brock, Kendra and Jaiden, Lennox, SD, Melissa (Arlyn) Feyereisen, and their children, Kaleb and Kaelee, Sioux Falls, SD, Kirk (Heather) Edwards, and their children, Christian, Tyler, Jason and Emilia, Medford, NJ and Kyle (ex-wife Susan) Edwards and their children, Jackson, Jasmine, Nathan and Matthew, Lennox; siblings: Sharon (Bert) Gednalski, Huron, SD and Larry Edwards, Ellsworth, KS as well as other relatives and friends.
Memorial Services will be held 11 am Saturday, November 3, at First English Lutheran Church in Lennox, SD.
Interment will be in South Dakota Veteran Cemetery, Sioux Falls. Military Rites by Lennox American Legion.
