Joe Lingbeck, age 83, of Madison, passed away Friday, March 15, 2019 at the Madison Regional Health System.
Joseph George Lingbeck was born April 4, 1935 in Winfred Township, Lake County, South Dakota to George & Myrtle (Thompson) Lingbeck.  He attended the Winfred School and graduated in 1953.  After graduation, he worked as a farm hand for various local farmers.  In 1956, he started working at the Sunshine Hatchery.  In 1957, he entered in the South Dakota Air National Guard.  Joe married Mary Thomas in 1961 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Madison.  In 1963, he bought a mobile feed grinder and did custom grinding through the Sunshine Hatchery for local farmers.  Later he bought the Sunshine Hatchery and named it Joe’s Feed Service and continued custom grinding of Zip Feed until his retirement in 2000.  For several years, Joe also was a Pioneer Seed dealer.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and served as a money counter for many years.  His hobbies include: woodworking, fishing, time with family, playing cards and coffee at McDonald’s.
Joe is survived by his wife, Mary of Madison; two daughters, Kristine (Steve) Olson of Madison, SD and Kathie (David) Darrington of Roberts, WI; four grandsons; one step-grandson; one great-granddaughter; one sister, Betty Byrne of Marion, SD and many nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Ethel Pecks and three brothers, Harold, Clarence & Palmer.  
Funeral service will be 10:00 AM on Wednesday, March 20th at Trinity Lutheran Church.   Visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be in the Winfred Cemetery.
