It’s Hot Dog Day!

Posted

Flandreau Hot Dog Day is set to take place this Friday, June 17th.  Free hotdogs will be served from 11:30am to 1pm at the park located downtown on 2nd Avenue. This annual event has been on hiatus the past few years due to COVID-19 but this year it’s returning and returning to the downtown area. The event has been taking place at the Westend Plaza strip mall and been solely hosted by Ramsdell F&M for numerous years. This year the event is being cohosted by the Flandreau Development Corporation and Ramdsdell’s F&M.
Other downtown businesses will be adding to the event as well. Lewis Drug will be handing out popsicles for a cool treat after your meal. First National Bank will be providing bottled water to keep everyone hydrated as they enjoy their meal and window shop our downtown businesses. Edgewood will be selling cookies  for $1 to raise for the Kelley-Porter American Legion Auxillary. Make sure to also grab from Edgewood folks a raffle ticket or two for their “Summer Getaway.” Proceeds from the raffle will go to The Longest Day organization, which helps bring awareness and find a cure for Alzheimer’s. That drawing will take place on July 1st.
King Insurance will have cupcakes and juice boxes for all the littles to have that attend and anyone who feels young at heart. Boys and Girls Club will also be selling root beer floats to raise money for their events throughout the year. They also have their annual shed raffle taking place with tickets for $30 dollars, the drawing takes place on June 29th. You will want to buy your tickets early to get in on the early-bird drawings that take place on the Fridays leading up to the shed drawing.
All the fun won’t just be taking place downtown. There are also the city-wide rummage sales going on. Currently there are nine rummage sales advertised in the Moody County Enterprise, (see page 7) but don’t let that stop you from putting together your own sale. Flandreau will be a hoppin’ place on Friday and we hope to see you all out and about.
