COLMAN – Colman-Egan split with Howard in a basketball doubleheader Monday, January 4 as the girls won 56-43 and the boys lost 71-27.

The Hawks led 15-14 after a quarter, 29-21 at halftime and 37-27 through three.
CE shot 43.5 percent (20-of-46) from the field and committed just 11 turnovers. The Tigers finished at 33.3 percent (17-of-51) with 18 giveaways.
The Hawks’ Josie Mousel scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
Mackenzie Hemmer had 14 points and Braiden Westley 11.
Howard got 22 points from Kenedy Koepsell.
Howard 71, Colman-Egan 27
The Tigers shot 61 percent (25-of-41) from the floor and hit 11 of their 20 3-point attempts.
Tisyn Spader scored 26 points – he was 7-of-10 from the field, including 6-of-8 from deep, and 6-of-6 at the foul line. Sam Aslesen added 13 points and Jace Sifore 12.
The Hawks’ Camden Schmidt scored eight points and Ryan Voelker and Levi Baumberger each added five. The Hawks were 27 oercent in field goal shooting and never stepped to the free throw line.
“We have played some of the best teams in the state to start the year,” said Coach Scott Hemmer.
“As a team we need to continue to work on the things we can control and improve as the year progresses.”
