Hawks use second half in grid iron win


COLMAN – Ryan Voelker ran for 174 yards, threw for 111 yards and had a hand in five touchdowns – three rushing and two through the air – as defending Class 9B state champion Colman-Egan pushed its winning streak to 14 games with a 40-25 defeat of Gayville-Volin on Friday night.
It was 12-12 after a quarter and at halftime. The Hawks moved ahead 26-18 heading to the fourth.
Two of Austin Gullickson’s three receptions went for scores as he totaled 63 yards. Dawson Tolley ran for 55 yards and a TD.
Tolley recorded 11 tackles and Gullickson eight. Voelker recovered a fumble.
Colman-Egan (2-0) is host to Castlewood on Friday.
