ESTELLINE – The Colman-Egan girls’ track and field team continued their domination at the Pat Gilligan Alumni Meet held Tuesday, April 26 at Beckman Field in Estelline.
The Hawks as a team won six different events and scored 288 points, easily distancing themselves from Flandreau and Arlington who tied for second with 142 points each.
The Flandreau boys won the title from the field of 15 teams while the Hawks placed 12th.
Taking three gold medals each were senior Mackenzie Hemmer and junior Reese Luze.
Hemmer won the 100 meter hurdles, triple jump and was a member of the 4x100 meter relay team.
Luze took top honors in the 800 meter run and aided the 4x200 and 4x400 meter relays teams.
These two girls are among the season’s top performers so far this season in Class B lists.
Hemmer leads the Class B girls in the 100, the triple jump and with the 4x100. Luze is at the top in the 800 and as a member of the 4x200 and 4x400 relay teams. She also leads in the 400 meter dash although she did not run this event at Estelline.
Top place winners for the boys were Easton Williamson in the 200, Jase Mousel in high jump and the 4x200 meter relay team of Christopher Lee, Logan Voelker, Williamson and Ben Zwart.
This week, the Hawks are to be at Howard Wood.
