Hawks lose to Cardinals

COLMAN – Arlington got off to a strong start to build a 27-23 halftime lead, and then, put away the Hawks with a 21-9 edge in the third quarter en route to a 61-51 Dakota Valley Conference victory over Colman-Egan on Monday night.
The home team, which trailed by 16 points with 2:10 left in the third, put together a 19-13 run in the final frame but came up short to fall to 11-5 overall and 5-3 in the DVC.
Trevor Larsen dropped 24 points and pulled down six rebounds to lead the Cardinals, who improved to 14-2 and 7-1 in league play.

Trey Ramstad chipped in with 16 points, five boards, four assists, seven steals and a blocked shot while Devon Heuer added 15 points, nine rebounds, five dimes and four takeaways.
Nate Tolley led Colman-Egan with 21 points as Dalton Voelker posted a double-double of 17 points and 14 rebounds, to go along with four assists, three steals and three blocks.

Girls
COLMAN – Arlington used a 19-9 second-quarter surge to take a 27-15 halftime lead over the Hawks, and then, held on in the second half for the 47-45 Dakota Valley Conference win on Monday night.
The Cardinals were up 8-6 after a quarter and still led 38-32 through three as they improved to 9-8 overall and evened their conference record at 4-4.
Jeryn Christensen scored 15 points to lead Arlington, while Hadley Carlson added 10 and Marissa Baker chipped in with eight.
Mackenzie Hemmer’s 18 points and nine rebounds led Colman-Egan, which dropped to 8-90 and 4-3 in the DVC. Katie Hannasch contributed nine points and Braiden Westley finished with eight for the Hawks.
