HOWARD – The home-standing Tigers topped Colman-Egan 49-30 in a girls’ basketball game Monday.
The score was 14-6 after a quarter, 19-15 at halftime and 37-26 through three.
Hilary Albrecht posted a double-double of 26 points – on 10-of-13 shooting – and 12 rebounds to go with four steals in the victory.
The Hawks’ Mackenzie Hemmer had eight points, Braiden Westley seven and Abby Rhode five.
COLMAN – After losing their first game of the season Monday night, the Hawks got back on track with a blowout win against Elkton-Lake Benton, 52-19, on Thursday. It was 12-9 after the first quarter, but then CE outscored ELB 14-3 in the second quarter and 23-3 in the third quarter to pull away.
The Hawks (6-1) were led by Mackenzie Hemmer who had 18 points and 10 rebounds. Braiden Wesstley had 13 points and five rebounds. Josie Mousel had eight points and Olivia Baumberger and Elizabeth Moore each had four. Hannah Krog led the Lady Elks (1-4) with nine points.
The Hawks shot 41.3% from the field and 2-8 from three. They held the Lady Elks to 25% from the field and 1-7 from three. CE outrebounded ELB 36-15.
