EMERY – Bridgewater-Emery swept Colman-Egan in a basketball doubleheader January 5, winning the girls’ game 57-52 and the boys’ game 82-57.
 
Girls
Bridgewater-Emery 57, Colman-Egan 52
The Huskies outscored the Hawks 23-18 in the fourth quarter to pull out the five-point victory.
Tied at 6-all after a quarter, Colman-Egan grabbed a 20-16 halftime advantage. The score was knotted at 34-34 through three.
The Huskies’ Abigal Arend scored 21 points. Kerrigan Schultz had 16 points and seven rebounds. Julia Weber added 12 markers.

Bridgewater-Emery shot 45.5 percent (20-of-44) from the field.
The Hawks’ Mackenzie Hemmer dropped in a game-high 22 points and grabbed eight boards.
Braiden Westley added 13 points, six rebounds and five steals.
Madison Voelker had nine points.
 
Boys
Bridgewater-Emery 82, Colman-Egan 57
Sawyer Schultz poured in 35 points to lead the Huskies.
Jamin Arend added 19 points and Carter Dye 12.
The score was tied at 15-15 after 8 minutes; however, Bridgewater-Emery moved ahead 42-28 at halftime and was up 63-43 heading to the fourth.
Colman-Egan’s Dalton Voelker totaled 21 points, nine rebounds and three assists.
Alec Landis contributed 14 points and Nate Tolley 11. Chase Hemmer totaled six points and eight boards.
Both teams shot better than 50 percent, but the Hawks committed 17 turnovers to the Huskies’ four.
