Hawk Cross Country

DELL RAPIDS – In a windy and cooler than most recent events, the Colman-Egan’s cross country team shook off the poor elements and ran to a second place team finish, Wednesday, Oct. 13 at Rocky Run Golf Course.
This earns them a spot in the SD State Class B girls cross country division this Saturday at Yankton Trail Park in Sioux Falls.
Junior Reese Luze was the medalist with her winning time of 21:55.08 with her sister, Presley, a freshman, close behind with a time of 22:01.22 for second.
Anya Hemmer, a Colman-Egan seventh-grader, came in 21st with a time of 23:09.34 and freshman Elaina Rhode was 25th, 23:51.73. Abby Rhode came in 34th to finish out the team.
The top two teams from each region advance as well as the top 20 runners in the region.
Arlington won the team title with a socre of 15 and the Lady Hawks marked up 24 points. Centerville was third with 40
The Hawks do not have a boys’ team but Arlington that division.

Hawk Football

COLMAN– The 2021 Colman-Egan Hawks closed out the year with a loss to Elkton/Lake Benton last Friday, October 15 at Fritz Field.
Final score was 44-22.
The Hawk close out the season with a 2-7 record. They did not qulify for post season play.

Hawk Volleyball

COLMAN –  Mackenzie Hemmer’s 13 kills led Colman-Egan to a four-set win over Oldham-Ramona/Rutland, Monday, October 11.
Scores were 25-18, 25-17, 17-25 and 25-21.

Along with those 13 kills, Hemmer scored 14 digs, three blocks and a pair of service aces.
Ava Mousel and Lanie Mousel added 20 and 10 digs, respectively.

EMERY–  The Hawks then traveled to Emery and faced undefeated and Class B top rated Bridgewater-Emery.
The Huskies won the five-set match by scores of 25-20, 29-27, 16-25, 23-25 and 16-14.

ESTELLINE – Arlington 2, Colman-Egan 0

Carlson’s 19 kills along with Morgan Larsen’s nine led Arlington to a straight-set win.
Grace Parry posted 33 set assists in the match, while Carlson and Larsen logged 21 and 10 digs, respectively.
For Colman-Egan, Hailey Larson led the Hawks with eight kills and Daniela Lee added seven.
Mackenzie Hemmer had a pair of blocks for Colman-Egan along with 13 digs.
Lee posted a team-high 14 digs.
Elkton-Lake Benton 2, Colman-Egan 0
27-25, 25-16
Krog and Drietz led the Lady Elks with nine and six kills, respectively, as Elkton-Lake Benton picked up the win.
Krog also posted a game-high 14 digs, while Goertz added ten.
Larson and Lee each had five kills for the Hawks.
Colman-Egan 2, De Smet 0
25-19, 25-16
Larson’s 12 kills pushed Colman-Egan to a straight-set win over De Smet.
Ava Mousel led the Hawks with 15 set assists and had a pair of service aces.
Hemmer and Lee both added four kills each.
Buchholz’s 11 kills were a team-high for De Smet, and she along with Birkel each had five blocks.

21-25, 25-19, 25-16
Hemmer’s double-double with 10 kills and 16 digs led the Hawks to a three-set win.
Larson added nine kills.
Ava Mousel and Lanie Mousel logged 15 and nine set assists, respectively.
Faith Taggart had three blocks for the Hawks.
Knecht and Everson again led the Warriors with 12 and six kills, respectively.
The Lady Hawks host Deubrook, Garretson and DRSM this week.
