Hawk boys win Region title

CHESTER – Colman-Egan individuals punched their tickets to state at the Region 4B Track and Field Meet on Thursday.

The top two finishers in each event along with those meeting the qualifying standards automatically qualify for state.

The Class B State Track and Field Meet is May 25-26 at O’Harra Stadium in Rapid City.

Boys

The Hawks’ Ryan Voelker won the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.73 seconds and Dalton Voelker placed first in the shot put with a mark of 44 feet, 3 3/4 inches to advance.

Alec Landis placed second in both the shot put (43-6 1/2) and the discus (130-2) – he already qualified in the former. Adding runner-up finishes were Bodee Groos in the 300-meter hurdles (43.7) and Nate Tolley in the triple jump (37-6).

Bodee Groos, Ryan Voelker, Eli Bowen and Kade Groos were second in the 4x200-meter relay in 1:35.87. Bowen, Ryan Voelker, Tolley and Bodee Groos matched that finish in the 4x400 with a time of 3:48.75.

Kade Groos won the 400 in 55.42 and was runner-up in both the 100 (11.17) and 200 (22.7). He had already qualified
