Hawk boys stopped by Divers, Hawks

COLMAN – Lake Preston edged Colman-Egan 52-44 in boys’ basketball action Thursday night.
The score was tied at 10-10 after a quarter and 21-all at halftime.
The Divers held a 33-30 advantage heading to the fourth.
Jasper Denison posted a double-double of 19 points – on 5-of-9 shooting – and 16 rebounds. Riley Casper contributed 14 markers. Carter Malone totaled eight points, five rebounds and five steals.

For the Hawks, Ryan Voelker finished with 17 points and nine boards. Easton Williamson added 11 points and Camden Schmidt eight to go with seven rebounds and a trio of steals.

CANISTOTA – Chase Merrill (19) and Tyce Ortman (17) combined for 36 points for the home team during its 75-24 defeat of Colman-Egan in a boys’ basketball game Friday.
Canistota (18-2) shot 51.6 percent from the field. It led 29-11 after a quarter and 52-16 at halftime.
Colman-Egan got 11 points from Camden Schmidt.
Ryan Voelker added seven points and 10 rebounds.
The CE Hawks, in a rebuilding year, closed the regular season at 0-19. The region 4B tourney begins March 1.
