Hawk boys second at Sno Bird Invite

ESTELLINE – Colman-Egan’s Walker Olivier had a big day as he won three events with state qualifying times, and the Hawks finished second in the team standings at the Sno Bird Invitational on Thursday.

Great Plains Lutheran won the team title with 112.5 points and Colman-Egan was second at 102. Castlewood (95.5) finished third.

Olivier was first in the 100-meter dash in 11.25 seconds, the 110-meter hurdles in 15.07 and the 300-meter hurdles in 41.6.

Malik Poppenga had a state meet qualifying mark of 40 feet, 4 inches while taking the triple jump title. He was runner-up in both the high jump (5-9) and long jump (19-2).

The Hawks won the 4x100 relay in 45.05, which is also a state qualifying time.

Kade Groos took second in the 200 with a 23.46 clocking – a state qualifying time.

Colman-Egan was second in the 4x200 relay in 1:37.66.

Zach Anderson placed third in the 1,600 (5:13.7) and eighth in the discus (103-4).

Alex Landis was fifth in the discus (108-3) and sixth in the shot put (37-9 1/2).

Devin Lohr added a seventh-place showing in the 100 (11.89).

The Hawks ended up seventh in both the 4x800 (10:19.35) and medley (4:21.56) relays.

Girls

Hamlin totaled 125.5 team points to edge second-place Deubrook Area (120) for the team title. GPL (104.5) was third, Arlington (69) fourth and Colman-Egan (67.5) fifth.

The Hawks’ Olivia Baumberger won the long jump with a state meet qualifying mark of 15-6.

Haleigh Nicol tied for second in the triple jump with a mark of 32-0 1/2.

The Hawks were second in both the 4x100 (55.11) and 4x200 (1:56.95) relays.

Elizabeth Moore cleared 4-6 to take third in the high jump. Colman-Egan ended up fourth in the medley relay (5:13.56).

Mackenzie Hemmer placed fifth in the 100 hurdles (18.83) and sixth in the 300 hurdles (55.76). Braiden Westley took fifth in the 300 hurdles (55.62).

Grace Anderson was fifth in the shot put (30-7 1/2) and seventh in the discus (82-10).

The Hawks finished sixth in the 4x400 relay (4:55.77).

Sami Lebert wound up in a tie for seventh in the long jump (14-1 3/4) and eight in the triple jump (29-5).

Jordan Wittrock was eighth in the 1,600 in 6:22.94.
