Glen E. Pearson, age 80, of Pipestone, died on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at The Gardens at Cannon Falls.

Glen Edward was born at the family farmhouse near Flandreau on January 2, 1936. He was the second of five children born to Eugene and Sophie Pearson. Except for a brief stint in northern Minnesota, Glen grew up on farms around Flandreau and Egan, graduating from Egan High School, Class of 1954. He then attended Huron College and graduated in 1960. During his college years, he met and then married Della Ione Monnie in 1959. Later, he attended the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary and graduated in 1967 while serving the Presbyterian church in Caldonia. Glen went on to serve as pastor in Brewster and Lake Andes. Glen also did work as a carpenter while living in Pipestone. Glen was a loving father, husband and pastor.

Survivors include his three sons: Mark Pearson, Douglas (Peggy) and Christopher (Heidi); two grandsons: Morgan and Peyton; three sisters: Shirley Anderson, Judy Thompson-Rath and Lucille Johns; and many nieces and nephews.

Glen was preceded in death by his wife Della Ione Pearson, his sister Dorothy (Pearson) Hammer, and his parents Eugene and Sophie.

Memorial services were held at the Second Presbyterian Church of Flandreau on Saturday, December 31, 2016 with the Reverend Ann Spitzenberger officiating.
