Girls third in DVC run


DE SMET – The Colman-Egan girls took third and the boys were sixth in the Dakota Valley Conference Cross Country Meet on Wednesday.
Girls
Estelline/Hendricks won with 20 points, as De Smet (22) finished second and Colman-Egan (24) third.
Deubrook Area’s Ellie Olsen was medalist in the 5K in 21 minutes, 9.7 seconds and the Redhawks’ JEsade Siverson was runner-up with a 21:39.56 clocking.
Reese Luze led the Hawks with a time of 21:50.46, putting her in third.
Abby Rhode (23:43.47) was 11th and Presley Luze (22:45.18) 11th to complete the team tally.
Also for CE, Brynlee Landis (23:00.76) was 14th and Elaina Rhode (25:59.16) 31st.
Boys
Elkton-Lake Benton (16) edged Estelline/Hendricks (16) for the team crown.
Colman-Egan was sixth at 66.
The Redhawks’ Riley Benning won the 5K in 17:15.07 and Dell Rapids St. Mary’s Jacob Vogel (17:29.66) was second.
The Hawks’ Sutton Bunde (20:43.18) placed 19th, Raph Johnson (21:48.12) 25th and Karson Quale (23:18.19) 33rd.
Wednesday, the Hawks will run in the Region meet in Dell Rapids.
