Toilet Bowl Races to be held during Moody County Fair

Posted

The toilet bowl races will take place in Friday, July 28, at 7 p.m. in the Flandreau High School parking lot.

For this event, a person or team will create and build a toilet bowl racer vehicle that they will use to race through an obstacle course.

Official rules for the racer vehicles are as follows:

1. All racers must include at least one clean human defecation device, tank not required.

2. All racers must be plunger powered and may not have any other power sources (motor or pedals).

3. The dimensions of a racer may not exceed five feet wide, 12 feet long and 13 feet tall. They must have three or more wheels.

4. There are no minimum dimensions, but the racer must carry one pilot during the race.

5. All racers must be capable of steering both left and right and of stopping.

6. For the doubles race, racers must have two human defecation devices and two pilots onboard the racer.

7. All racers must stay seated on the bowl during the race; demounting will forfeit the race.

Race officials reserve the right to deny entry or disqualify any team that does not conform to the rules or is deemed unsafe.

All racers must complete and sign a race waiver to participate.

Special prizes for Best of Show and Best Design will be awarded following the race.

Race categories are 16 years old and under, 17 years old and over and doubles for each.

There will be no entry fee required to participate in the race this year.
