Frances L. Parsley

Frances Louise (Frauenberg) Parsley passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at her daughter’s home in rural Pipestone, MN. Frances was born October 2, 1930 to Frank and Louise (Thielsen) Frauenberg at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
Frances attended and graduated from school in Egan, SD. After graduation, Frances attended General Beadle College in Madison, SD and went on to teach in Jasper, MN; where she would remain until she was married. Frances and John Parsley were married on December 29, 1951 at Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church in Flandreau, SD. Frances was a substitute teacher for the Elkton, SD, Lake Benton, MN, and Verdi, MN school districts from 1983 to 1991; and worked in the Verdi School Office until her retirement in 1993. In 2005, Frances and John moved to an apartment in Lake Benton. On April 6, 2010, John passed away at Pipestone Hospice Residence. Frances then moved to Falls Landing Assisted Living Facility in Pipestone.
Frances enjoyed gardening, dancing, reading, and card playing.
Frances is survived by her children: Michael (Karen) Parsley, Sioux Falls; Theresa (Paul) Osgood, Mazeppa, MN; Thomas (Connie) Parsley, Dyersville, IA; Catherine (Norman) Rossiter, Brooklyn Park, MN; Patrick (Jean) Parsley, Cedar Rapids, IA; Mona (Dennis) Boese, Hills, MN; Bernadette (Neal) Carstensen, Granite Falls, MN; Mark Parsley, Minnetonka, MN; Eileen (Scott) Christensen, Lake Benton; Anthony “Tony” (Darla) Parsley, Adrian, MN; Merle (Dawn) Parsley, Lawson, MO; Miriam (Todd) Johnson, Pipestone; and Jerome (Paige) Parsley, Delray Beach, FL; 59 grandchildren; many great and great-great-grandchildren; and her sister Berdyene Bowen, Egan, SD.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, John; her infant daughter, Verjean; her sister, Lorraine Luke; and daughters-in-law, Susan Parsley and Carol Parsley.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, January 18, 2021 at St. Leo Catholic Church, Pipestone, MN; with visitation beginning at 9:00 am. Livestream will be available on Frances’ obituary page on www.skrochfc.com. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Elkton, SD.
