Fliers sweep C/WL

The Fliers posted a double win over Lake Central Conference foe, Clark/Willow Lake over the weekend. Both Flandreau teams won big over the Cyclones who are in their first year of Class B play, dropping down a class from Class A.
Girls
FLANDREAU – Hannah Parsley led the Fliers past Clark/Willow Lake, 53-39, in a Lake Central Conference girls’ basketball game Saturday.
The junior scored 22 points  and grabbed 14 rebounds to complete the double-double. She dished out eight assists and came up with six steals.
Tishara Hardy added 15 markers.
“While prepping for this game we knew we had to stop Janae Kolden from going off. She is a very good player,” said Head Coach Megan Severtson.
“Thankfully, our defense executed the game plan and we came out with a win against a good team,” she added.

Kolden paced the Cyclones with 15 points.
The JV girls also won 38-18 behind 11 points from Cassidy Keith and nine from Kennedy Headrick.
Flandreau (11-5) plays at Baltic on Tuesday.

Boys
FLANDREAU – The Fliers handed Clark/Willow Lake its second loss of the season, winning 65-48 during Lake Central Conference boys’ basketball action Saturday.
Tash Lunday finished with 23 points, seven rebounds and three assists.
Connor LeBrun totaled 22 points, five boards, two dimes and a pair of steals.
Nate Kneebone contributed 14 points, three rebounds and three assists.
Flandreau led 18-12 after a quarter, 32-25 at halftime and 46-35 through three.
“We again played a good defensive game, with Jevan Moran leading the charge,” said Flier coach Brendan Sheppard. “We have been improving offensively and played our best game of the year on that end of the court. We were very patient and under control, which led to some great looks.” The Fliers are now 8-7.
For the Cyclones (13-2), Jacob Prouty scored 19 points and Micah Burke 11.
