BERESFORD – Beresford beat Flandreau 34-6 in a football game Friday.
Beresford garnered 247 total yards while the Fliers earned 187. From this Matt Pauley went over the 100 yard mark with his 31 carries for 104 yards. Tanner Christenson passed for 61 yards including the Fliers’ lone touchdown to sophomore Tash Lunday.
Defensively, the Fliers were led by Pauley and Lunday, each with a sack and 17 and 15 tackles respectively. Christenson also had six tackles and Thomas Perez had an interception and four tackles. Lunday forced a fumble and Perez recovered one.
“We played a very tough first half but played well the whole first half. We got stopped at the 1 yard line 4 times before half and I think that took some of the wind out of our sails. We have to get better at having a short memory and playing 4 quarters of the game,” noted coach Derek Genzlinger.
The Watchdogs improved to 3-3.
The Fliers (0-6) host Webster Area this Friday at 7 p.m. Note: there is no morning breakfast due to parent-teacher conferences.
