Fliers host Parent Night Quad; in Tri-Valley Tourney Saturday

FLANDREAU – The host Fliers went 0-3 in a home wrestling quadrangular Tuesday
Flandreau’s Braden Peters went 3-0, pinning each of his opponents.

The Fliers’ Braden Peters pinned Mica Johnson in 1:33 at 285 pounds.

Tanner Christenson (126) and Kolby Peters (138) both won via forfeit.
Parkston’s Slayton Neugebauer pinned Chase Reed in 1:48 at 220. Noah Mahoney edged Caleb Dietrich 11-8 in the 132-pound bout and Landon Sudbeck posted a 12-3 major decision over Hunter Witte at 113.

West Lyon 68, Flandreau 10
Braden Peters put Jordan Ver Meer on his back in 3:06 at 285.
Witte added a 9-0 major decision over Dalton Warner in the 113-pound matchup.
The Wildcats’ Chase Thiessen pinned Caleb Pitsenberger in 3:07 at 126. Tanner Severson dropped Kolby Peters 10-4 at 138, while Easton Fleshman won via technical fall 19-2 in 4:00 over Reed.

Braden Peters won by fall in 1:14 over Geoff Dinkelberger in the 285-pound matchup.
The Pheasants won the other five contested bouts.
Kaleb Buseman topped Dietrich 4-1 at 132 and Parker Eldeen defeated Kolby Peters 6-0 at 138. Logan Buseman (113) pinned Witte in 5:45, Issac McDugle (126) pinned Christenson in 3:12 and Jesse Walton (220) pinned Reed in 2:27.

Tri-Valley Tourney
COLTON – Chase Reed placed fifth to pace Flandreau at the Tri-Valley Invitational on Saturday.
After receiving a first-round bye, he was pinned by Sisseton’s Vincent Herberg in 2:30.
Reed had another bye before putting Dell Rapids’ Aiden Moore on his back in 2:09.
Reed fell in 4:45 versus Winner’s Achilles Wiluweit in the consolation semifinals, before winning the fifth-place match via medical forfeit.
Caleb Pitsenberger (126) went 1-2, while Caleb Dietrich (132), Kolby Peters (138) and Sergio Morales (285) each finished 0-2.
Winner won the team title with 250 points and Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes was second at 228.5. The Fliers took 14th with 14 team points.
Flandreau heads to a quadrangular in Mt. Vernon on Thursday and the Arlington on Saturday.
