Fliers handed two losses

Flandreau dropped two matches last week on the volleyball court.
Tuesday against McCook Central/Montrose, the Fliers won the first set, but the Fighting Cougars responded with three straight set wins to pick up the victory.
Flandreau took set one 25-20, before MC/M rattled off 25-13, 25-10 and 25-20 victories to take the match.
Abby Schoeberl led the Fliers with 25 assists and 15 digs. Claire Sheppard had nine kills and Lizzie Pavlis had seven. Ella Hoffman had nine assists and Lily Klein made 14 digs.
Thursday, the Fliers traveled to Dell Rapids to face an athletic Quarrier team.
The Fliers were outmatched as they were swept in sets of 25-19, 25-9 and 25-17.
Flandreau was led by Schoeberl with 17 assists and two blocks. Sheppard led the team with seven kills and two blocks.
Pavlis recorded six kills and Addy Hammer had 10 Flier digs.
The Fliers fell to 5-14 on the season and were to head to Elkton/Lake Benton on Tuesday and will host Sioux Valley on Thursday.
