Fliers end season at 8-13

FLANDREAU – Flandreau couldn’t handle the second half comeback from the Elkton Elks in the Class A Region 2 tournament, Monday, Feb. 27.
The Fliers lost 59-54 to close out their season at 8-13.
After a 12-12 deadlock in the first quarter, the Fliers took a 28-24 lead into halftime. But the Elks out-scored Flandreau 15-7 in the third quarter to take a 39-35 lead and closed it out, edging Flandreau 20-19 in the fourth quarter to set up a matchup with top-seeded Sioux Valley on Tuesday night.
Tanner Drietz led ELB with 19 points and Carson Griffith had 11 points for the Elks. Paul Parsley led Flandreau with 19 points and Luke Sheppard had 15 points.
The Elks improved to 7-14 on the season with the win while the Fliers finished the season at 8-13.
