Fliers at State Track

RAPID CITY/SPEARFISH – Flandreau junior Madeline Hursey, freshman Libby Hursey, senior Mara Lunday and sophomore Hannah Parsley placed eighth in the girls’ 4x800-meter relay in 10 minutes, 15.73 seconds at the Class A State Track and Field Meet last weekend.

Madeline Hursey finished 11th in the 3,200 meters with 12:25.21 clocking.

Ashtyn Bertram took 13th in both the 100-meter (12.87) and 200-meter (26.69) preliminaries.

The Fliers ran in the preliminaries in three relays.

Bella Pavlis, Hannah Parsley, Kathy Parsley and Bertram were ninth in the 4x200 in 1:49.52, missing the finals by .43 seconds.

Bertram, Kathy Parsley, Pavlis and Hannah Parsley ended up 14th in the 4x400 with a time of 4:22.54. Pavlis, Kathy Parsley, Hannah Parsley and Libby Hursey finished 15th in the medley in 4:35.44.

Boys

Nathan Kneebone finished 22nd in the triple jump with a mark of 39 feet, 1 inch, his personal best of the season. Gabe Hobbie took 23rd in the 3,200 with a 12:43.68 clocking.

Michael Witte was 15th in the 300-meter hurdles preliminaries in 43.82, while Andrew Julson ended up 18th in the 200-meter dash prelims with a time of 24.28.

Flandreau’s competed in the preliminaries in a pair of relays.

Julson, Michael Witte, Connor LeBrun and Brendan Ten Eyck were 14th in the 4x400 in 3:42.03. Trevor Hahn, Ten Eyck, Witte and Julson crossed in 17th in the 4x200 in 1:38.57.
