Hannah Parsley had another huge game as the Fliers handed the Fighting Cougars (16-3) their only regular-season league loss. They were ranked fourth in last week’s Class A girls’ basketball polls.
The junior scored 30 points on 13-of-20 shooting. Parsley grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out nine assists, just missing the triple-double. She added three steals and a blocked shot.
Flandreau was up 21-15 after a quarter, 37-29 at halftime and 58-48 at the end of three enroute to the 20 point win.
“A couple seniors stepped up during their last regular season home game. Madie (Hursey) not only had 14 points, but contributed 7 assists with just one turnover. Marianna (Pavlis) also had a big night despite being in foul trouble a majority of the game,” said Coach Megan Severtson.
Maria Parsley added nine points and Ashtyn Bertram eight to go with four dimes and four steals.
“Looking at the stats, we had 22 assists as a team and just 5 turnovers. That’s just good team basketball,” added Severtson whose team is now looking at post season play next week. They were to close out the regular season this past Monday at Baltic in a make-up game and Tuesday at Parker; both double headers with the boys’ teams.
The Flier JV team won over McCook Central/Montrose, 44-21 behind 12 points from Kennedy Headrick.

Tash Lunday narrowly missed a double-double with a game-high 25 points and nine rebounds.
Connor LeBrun had 14 points and five assists. Nate Kneebone added 13 points and five boards.
Flandreau led 18-12 after a quarter, 30-29 at halftime and 43-40 through three.
“The boys battled through a poor shooting night, only making 1-of-15 3-pointers,” said Flandreau coach Brendan Sheppard. “It was nice to get a win when we struggled shooting the ball and had some foul trouble. The boys made a few clutch plays down the stretch that were the difference.”
MCM’s Isaac McCormick scored 18 points and Koltan Lindstrom 17.
