Flier girls 2-1 in week’s play

Vs. Garretson
FLANDREAU – The Fliers raced out to an 18-4 lead after a quarter and pushed their advantage to 39-11 at halftime to cruise to a 55-28 Big East Conference girls’ basketball win over Garretson on Tuesday night.
“Defensively, we put together a solid four quarter performance tonight,” said Head Coach Megan Severtson.
“We found some things offensively that were working for us early and executed well throughout the game.”
Flandreau’s Hannah Parsley posted a double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds, while coming up with five steals and dishing out three assists. Marianna Pavlis contributed 14 points as Maria Parsley chipped in with five points and seven boards.
Lizzie Olson had six points and six rebounds for the Blue Dragons. Kyley Greenhoff and Lily Ronschau also scored six points apiece.
In the JV game, the Blue Dragons kept ahead of the Fliers winning 34-31. Cassidy Keith scored 15 Flier points.

Vs. Madison

MADISON – Hannah Parsley posted a triple-double as Flandreau beat Madison 66-43 in a nonconference girls’ basketball game Thursday night.
The junior scored 19 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and dished out 10 assists. She also came up with four steals.
The Fliers led 17-10 after a quarter, 35-18 at halftime and 53-31 at the end of three.
Flandreau put five players in double figures as Ashtyn Bertram added 14 points, Marianna Pavlis 11, and Bella Pavlis and Maria Parsley both 10.
Marianna Pavlis, who had four steals, and Maria Parsley, who blocked a pair of shots, both corralled eight boards.
The Lady Bulldogs’ Kendra Leighton finished with 12 points and Maddie Gerry 10.
In the JV game, Flandreau won 37-33 behind 13 points from Cassidy Keith.

Vs. Crofton, NE in Hanson Classic
MITCHELL – Traditional Nebraska power Crofton dropped Flandreau 48-35 in a girls’ basketball game at the Hanson Classic on Saturday afternoon at the Corn Palace.
The Warriors led 12-5 after a quarter and 27-13 at halftime. The score was 36-26 through three.
Crofton’s Lacey Sprakel posted a double-double of 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Kaley Einrem scored a game-high 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting.
The Fliers shot 27 percent (10-of-37) from the field, including 1-of-15 from 3-point range.
Hannah Parsley tallied a double-double of 19 points and 11 boards.
Marianna Pavlis added nine markers.
Flandreau (6-3) plays at Deuel on Tuesday.
Crofton improved to 11-3.
