Flier boys stop Parker

FLANDREAU – The Fliers went on a 19-9 run in the third quarter to pull away from Parker for a 70-58 Big East Conference boys’ basketball win on Tuesday, Feb. 6

Flandreau led 20-18 after a quarter and 35-30 at halftime before taking control in the second half.

Dylan LeBrun scored 29 points, pulled down nine rebounds and dished out five assists to lead the Fliers, who improved to 11-5 overall and 5-1 in the BEC. Connor LeBrun added 17 points and four dimes as Nathan Cloud chipped in with eight points and two steals.

Trey Christensen’s 22 points led the Pheasants, who dropped to 13-3. Camden Bialas contributed 11 points, seven rebounds and five blocks.

“Parker did a nice job attacking us and getting some good shots in the first half,” noted Flier coach Brendan Sheppard.

“I thought we made a few adjustments at halftime and played with more intensity allowing us to open up a lead in the third quarter.  Offensively, we played a nice game scoring 70 points and making 11 3-point shots.”

The Flandreau JVers doubled up on the Pheasants, 50-24. Tash Lunday scored 16, Kyle Johnson added 8 and Kendall Treetop 7.
