Flier boys’ keep running to wins

VOLGA – The Flandreau boys won the team title and the girls were fourth at the Sioux Valley Cross Country Invite on Tuesday at Meadow Creek.

The Fliers totaled 31 team points to take first and Webster Area was second at 44.
David Allen was runner-up in the 5K in 17 minutes, 36.15 seconds.
Austin Kulm (17:54.93) placed sixth, Liam Streitz (18:13.67) ninth and Lars Dailey (18:57.73) 23rd to round out the team score.
Also for Flandreau, Samuel Gassman (19:14.98) finished 27th, Lurick Dailey (19:29.1) 29th, Tanner Reed (19:30.18) 31st, Dylan Christenson (20:02.54) 40th, Tyce Christenson (20:02.54) 40th and James Drietz (21:28.46) 63rd.
Flandreau Indian School’s Marshall Dog Eyes placed third in 17:47.48. Bradyn Brother Of All (18:16.27) was 10th and Miles Davenport (19:10.49) 26th.
Lake Preston’s Rhett McMasters was medalist with a 17:06.94 clocking.

The Fliers had 65 team points in fourth.
Hannah Parsley placed second in a time of 20:36.05.
Lily Klein (21:29.14) finished 13th, Reese Olinger (22:22.64) 27th and Josie Hamilton (22:44.08) 33rd to complete the team tally.
Also for Flandreau, Lizzie Pavlis (23:04.89) was 36th, Sadie Iott (23:05.2) 37th and Whitley Olinger (23:25.67) 43rd.
FIS’ Kianna Haas (21:08.7) ended up seventh.
Garretson won the team title with 31 points, while Webster Area (37) was second and Deuel (63) third.
The Blue Dragons’ MaKayla Heesch won the 5K in 20:26.86.
