Filmmaker Wede to Showcase “Valentine Crush” at Crystal, Saturday

Jamie Wede will show his production that he both produced and directed, and was filmed in South Dakota on the big screen at the Crystal Theatre January 8.
His movie, Valentine Crush, made during the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic, debuted at the Orpheum Theatre in Sioux Falls and rolled out in several film festivals across the nation. The 60 minute production is about a roller derby player who meets her ultimate fan and gets more than she bargained for. It was filmed in a farmhouse between Beresford and Wakonda.
The film was largely self-funded, so this has been a labor of love.

Purchase advance tickets by calling Mike at 605-864-1122, or Kuhle-Sutton Agency, 605-997-3777. Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door.
The screening is scheduled to begin at 7 pm with some short productions showing beforehand. Following the film, there will be a Q & A session and a small concert at Sioux River Spirits & Merchantile, 105 N Wind St., with some of the acts from the soundtrack — all of the songs are from female groups, singers or songwriters.
Kristen Ford is among those that will be attending, the Nashville singer/songwriter wrote two original songs for the film and had a small role in the movie. Mercy Valentine will play with Northern Comfort from the Twin Cities and Dayna Jones from South Dakota will be opening. Sioux Falls comedienne Sarah King will host and emcee the evening.
