Fier female golfers take own invite

FLANDREAU – Colman-Egan won the boys’ team title and the host Fliers prevailed on the girls’ side in the Flandreau Invitational on Thursday at Rivers Bend Country Club.

Boys

Mason Hemmer was medalist with a 74 as the Hawks carded a team score of 241.

Chester Area (258) was second, Garretson (260) third, Flandreau (346) fourth and Dell Rapids St. Mary (354) fifth.

The Fliers’ Dawson Blum was the individual runner-up following a round of 75.

Garretson’s Isaiah Mader (78) and Chester’s Cole Pry (79) were third and fourth, respectively.

Kade Groos finished fifth with an 81 and Bodee Groos was sixth with an 86 to complete Colman-Egan’s team tally.

Also for the Hawks, Nate Tolley (92) was 10th while Chandler Gullickson shot 94 and Nick Whitehouse 106.

Rounding out the Fliers’ team score, Devon Burggraff shot 113 and David Allen 128. Tanner Christenson added a 158.

Girls

All five Fliers placed in the top nine, including four in the top five, as Flandreau shot 297 to cruise to the team championship.

Flandreau shot 297. Garretson (368) was second and Flandreau Indian School (476) third.

Baltic’s Chantel Brende was medalist after firing a 91.

Flandreau’s Destiny Nelson (96), Grace Johanson (98) and Keva Burshiem (103) were second through fourth, respectively, to compile the

Fliers’ team score.

Alaina Cloud (104) was fifth and Ailee Southwood (140) ninth. For FIS, Jamisina Webster took 10th. Esther Iron Hawk shot 153, Brenn Alberts 162, Saraphine Russette 171.
