Fall sports comes to close for FHS teams

FLANDREAU/HAYTI – The Fliers opened the Region 2A Volleyball Tournament with a 25-18, 25-13, 25-7 home win over Flandreau Indian School on Tuesday but then fell 28-26, 25-19, 25-18 at Hamlin in the semifinals Thursday.
“We had moments of going on a scoring run and then we’d have moments where we would go a couple points without scoring,” said Flandreau coach Lauren McCafferty, whose team finished the season with a 14-15 record. “Our offensive consistency was our downfall. We played hard defense, hustling after the ball and being scrappy, but unfortunately fell short on the offensive side.”
