Petitions to become nominated as a candidate for various positions in government are available beginning Friday.
Positions are up for election in Egan, Trent, Colman, Ward, the Colman-Egan School District and the Flandreau School District.
In Trent, a one-year term held by Rich Nord and a three-year term filled by Jennifer Ahrendt will be voted on, while in Egan, two three-year terms for trustees of wards 1 and 2 are available. Colman has two-year positions in wards 1 through 3, currently filled by Mike Uhing, Mike Preheim and Roger Broghammer, and a one-year position in Ward 3, filled by Troy Smallfield. Ward voters will choose residents to fill one three-year term and one two-year term.
The Flandreau School District has two vacancies for three-year terms currently held by Darren Hamilton and Kari Burggraff. In Colman-Egan, one three-year term is up and is currently filled by Jeff Fritz.
Nominating petitions are due February 22. Elections are planned for April 9.
