Election concerns one reader

To the Editor:

Considering the outcome of our recent election, we South Dakotans are assured that our state government will continue to be one of the most corrupt in the nation.
Along that line, I keep hoping we will elect some candidates that will attempt to repeal our contemptible sales tax on food that is such a burden on those of lesser means.

However, we keep electing those who put party, power and prestige ahead of consideration for those lacking means to defend themselves and instead, protect the powerful.
Also, thank you to Senator Billie Sutton who, although faced an opponent being supported by expensive visits by President Trump, who is very short of ethics, and Vice President Pence, and also endorsed by our two senators, our sitting governor and the present attorney general, and was the target of several very questionable attack ads, made the governor’s race very close.
