ELB’s second-half surge beats Hawks

ELKTON – Elkton-Lake Benton pulled away in the second half as the Elks defeated the Colman-Egan Hawks 54-38 on Thursday night.
The Elks jumped out to a 13-12 lead after the first quarter and jumped ahead 26-20 going into halftime. ELB took control in the third quarter, out-scoring the Hawks 17-8 to take a 43-28 lead. The Elks closed out the win by out-scoring C-E 11-10 in the fourth quarter.
Ryan Krog led the way for ELB, scoring 16 points and pulling down nine rebounds. Carson Griffith had a double-double in the win, scoring 13 points with 11 rebounds and five assists on the night. Garrett Neill had 10 points and Tanner Stein had nine points and eight rebounds.
Sawyer Uhing and Camden Schmidt led the Hawks with nine points each and Logan Voelker had seven points in the loss.
The Hawks fell to 4-8 with the loss and were to travel to Castlewood on Tuesday night.
