Earl W. Rickmeyer, 81, of Flandreau, SD, passed away Friday, October 12, 2018 at the Avera Heart Hospital, Sioux Falls, SD. Earl was born April 15, 1937 at Sheboygan, WI, to Norman and Irene (Klemm) Rickmeyer. He received his education in Sheboygan and then worked at the Sheboygan County Farm. Earl was drafted in to the U.S. Army and was stationed in Okinawa.  After his discharge, he moved to Mapleton, MN, where he worked for Weaver Farms. He bought a farm three miles north of Flandreau, SD, in 1974. He married Geraldine Triebwasser on March 9, 1974. Earl farmed for many years and after retiring he continued to live on the farm. Earl was awarded “Friend of the Fair” in 2011 by the Moody County Fair Board. He loved his sheep and his cats.                        
Earl is survived by his wife Geraldine; one sister Jean (Bryan) Dickmann, Sheboygan; four in-laws, Bernita Triebwasser, Mitchell, SD; Lavella (Milton) Schrader, Alexandria, SD; Leland (Wilma) Triebwasser, Dell Rapids, SD; Mable Triebwasser, Mitchell; and many nieces and nephews. Earl was preceded in death by his parents and his in-laws: Leona (Harm) Frey; Lucille (Fred) Klock; Irene Triebwasser and Kenny (Kathy) Triebwasser.
Visitation is 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 17 at Skroch Funeral Chapel with his funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. Burial in Union Cemetery.
