Drama students head to state One-Act Play with the comedy “Miss Beth”

The Flandreau High School One-act Play cast and crew advanced to perform at the South Dakota State One-Act Festival this Friday. The crew performed the comedy Miss Beth by Don Zolidas, a loose interpretation of Shakespeare’s Macbeth but with members of a high school competitive cheer squad.
FHS earned the right to compete at the Region IIIA competition held January 23 in Madison, where their performance ranked first overall. In addition, five FHS students were recognized with Outstanding Performer awards: Elle Thompson, Kelsey Sutton, Grace Johanson, Austin Kulm and Matthew Drietz.
Their state performance will be held at 10:15am on Friday, February 1, at the Johnson Fine Arts Center in Aberdeen. The festival runs from January 31-February 2.
