Diane M. Johnson, 69, Flandreau, passed away, Sunday, March 22, 2020 at the VAMC in Sioux Falls.
Diane was born on September 2, 1950 at Hendricks, MN to Oscar and Alice (Krein) Johnson. She graduated from Astoria High School in 1968 and then worked at the State Hospital in Redfield, SD. She enlisted in the US Navy on May 16, 1969 and after her discharge on May 16, 1972 worked at the Pentagon in Washington, DC. She returned to South Dakota and worked as a custodian at SDSU for many years. Diane then worked at the Brookings Sheriff’s Dept. until she retired and moved to Flandreau in 2000. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Flandreau, American Legion Post #88, White, SD and DAV Chapter 22, Brookings.
Diane is survived by two brothers, Richard Johnson, Astoria and Michael (Traci) Johnson, Brookings; a nephew, Jeff, Flandreau and a niece, Barbara (Dave) Buckbinder, Silverado, CA
Funeral services were held, Saturday, March 28, 2020 at Skroch Funeral Chapel with burial in Bethany Cemetery, Astoria.
